Propping, shoring, and façade stabilisers
At Grupo Munditubo, we offer specialised services in the assembly of load-bearing scaffolding systems, designed to function as auxiliary structures in façade stabilisers and shoring applications. These scaffolds are specifically engineered to support vertical loads, ensuring the safety and stability required for any project.
Our qualified teams shape each structural element to meet the specific needs of every client. We deliver tailored, efficient solutions using the highest-quality materials on the market and complying with the strictest safety and quality standards.
Propping, shoring, and façade stabilisation solutions
At Munditubo, we specialise in structural safety systems for rehabilitation, restoration, and construction projects. Our propping, shoring, and façade stabilisation systems are designed to support temporary loads, prevent collapses, and ensure that construction work is carried out safely.
We work with certified materials and advanced techniques to guarantee maximum stability, minimising risks for both workers and the surrounding environment. We offer customised solutions adapted to each project — from the restoration of historic buildings to the construction of new structures in urban environments.
When are propping and façade stabilisation systems needed?
Propping, shoring, and stabilisation systems play a key role in construction and rehabilitation, allowing work to be carried out without compromising structural stability. Common situations include:
🔹 Rehabilitation of historic buildings
In many restoration projects — especially for protected or heritage buildings — façades must be preserved while the internal structure is repaired. Façade stabilisers allow the external shell of the building to remain standing safely.
🔹 Partial demolitions
When part of a building is being demolished, it is crucial to ensure the stability of the remaining structure. Propping and stabilisation systems prevent accidental collapses during demolition work.
🔹 Excavations near existing structures
Deep excavations close to buildings can cause ground movement that threatens structural stability. Shoring and façade stabilisers help prevent displacement and damage.
🔹 Reinforcement of weakened structures
Older or deteriorated buildings may have lost load-bearing capacity. Propping systems temporarily reinforce these loads to allow safe intervention.
🔹 Support for large-scale projects
Major construction works, such as extensions or infrastructure projects, often require additional support at certain stages. Temporary propping structures ensure stability and safety throughout the project.
Types of propping, shoring, and façade stabilisation systems
At Munditubo, we provide a wide range of solutions tailored to different types of projects:
🔹 Propping and shoring systems
Designed to support both vertical and horizontal loads, ensuring construction work can proceed without structural risk.
- Vertical props: Used to support slabs and ceilings during rehabilitation or replacement of structural elements.
- Inclined props: Designed to reinforce walls and façades at risk of collapse.
- Horizontal shores: Used to distribute loads and prevent unwanted movement in weakened structures.
🔹 Façade stabilisers
Specifically engineered to keep façades standing during restoration or partial demolition.
- Self-supporting structures: Hold the façade without anchoring to the original structure.
- Counterweight systems: Used in urban environments where ground or structural anchoring is not possible.
- Modular stabilising frames: Allow precise adjustment to the dimensions of each façade.
Advantages of our systems
At Munditubo, we ensure maximum safety and efficiency in every project. Our propping, shoring, and stabilisation systems offer:
✅ Guaranteed safety: All systems comply with current regulations and are designed to provide structural stability in any environment.
✅ Adaptability: Custom-designed solutions for each project — rehabilitation, restoration, or new construction.
✅ Fast, efficient installation: Modular systems enable quick assembly, reducing project time and costs.
✅ Risk reduction: Prevent collapses and ensure the safety of workers and nearby structures.
✅ Experience and professionalism: Over 20 years of expertise across Mallorca and Catalonia in structural stabilisation and façade support.
Case studies: successful projects
Shoring systems on the Robert Graves Bridge
In 2010, we collaborated on the rehabilitation of the Robert Graves Bridge in Palma de Mallorca — a key urban link requiring a complete structural reinforcement. Our task involved designing and installing propping systems that allowed structural works to proceed safely without interrupting traffic or endangering workers and pedestrians. The bridge reopened in February 2010, on time and in full compliance with quality standards.
Scaffolding and shoring systems at S’Escorxador
At the historic S’Escorxador building in Palma, now a cultural landmark, our team installed scaffolding and shoring systems to reinforce the columns supporting the main entrance sign and roof structure. Given the building’s architectural value, the solution had to guarantee stability without affecting aesthetics or functionality. Using Layher modular systems, we achieved a safe, adaptable, and fast installation.
Propped scaffolding on the Bellver Castle wall
At Bellver Castle in Palma de Mallorca, we participated in the preservation of this emblematic monument. Between 2018 and 2021, we installed and maintained specialised scaffolding to shore up part of the castle’s moat wall. This intervention ensured the structure’s stability and prevented further deterioration, safeguarding one of the city’s most historic landmarks.
Façade stabilisation and shoring at Teatro Defensora de Sóller
Client: Sóller Town Council
Location: Sóller, Mallorca
Service: Installation of façade stabilisation and propping systems after partial collapse.
Project overview:
In September 2023, the historic Teatro Defensora de Sóller suffered a partial collapse of its roof and main façade. Following the incident, the Town Council entrusted Munditubo with stabilising and securing the affected structure.
Our team carried out the urgent installation of reinforced Layher multidirectional scaffolding systems to act as stabilisation and propping structures. These systems contained the risk of further collapse, ensuring the safety of the area and technical teams assessing the damage.
Technical challenges:
- Structural weaknesses discovered after the collapse required flexible, adaptable design.
- Narrow streets and nearby buildings demanded precise logistics.
- The priority was to secure the site quickly and allow for safe technical assessment.
Technical solution implemented:
- Installation of reinforced stabilisation and propping scaffolds with diagonal bracing and anti-tip systems.
- Rapid assembly coordinated with municipal safety teams.
- Perimeter protection to restrict access and safeguard the intervention zone.
Results:
✅ Guaranteed safety for technicians and workers during inspection and consolidation.
✅ Immediate risk control and stabilisation of remaining structural elements.
✅ Public reassurance through a fast, professional response by local authorities and Munditubo.
Scope:
This project reinforces Munditubo’s reputation as a leader in façade stabilisation and structural shoring for historic buildings, particularly in sensitive urban areas across Mallorca and Catalonia.
